Everything That Shines Ain't Gold
We have all heard it said
that “Everything that shines ain’t gold.” And in Isaiah the 14th
Chapter, Lucifer (The Devil) is described as the bright Morning Star – The most
beautiful of God’s creations.
Nevertheless, he was cast down out of heaven to the earth along with a third
of the stars (angels) of heaven) for prideful rebellion (Revelation 12:4).
There are a lot of good
looking, good sounding, excellent speaking, persuasive and motivating preachers
and Pastors who shine brightly in the earth.
But suffice it to say that
“Everything that shine ain’t Gold.”
The Bibles teaches us to “test the spirits to see whether they are
from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.”
And how do we test the Spirit to see if they are confessing or rather
teaching the Doctrine of Christ?
Apostles Paul answers that
question in Galatians 1:8 by saying: “if anyone or an
angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one preached to us by
the Apostles of Christ, let them be under God's curse!”
The standard for telling if a preacher is
preaching God’s Truth is to measure it against the commands of God and the
teachings and practices of the true apostles of Christ.
Christ and His Apostles have set the standard
for the Church of Jesus Christ. And any
other teaching, any other doctrines or any other practice is accursed.
Everything that shines
ain’t gold!

Knowing Fear
In
the Authorized King James Version of the Bible, it is reported that the phrases
“Fear not” or “Be not afraid”
appears 103 times.
In
the New Testament, “Fear not”
appears at least 16 times and “Be not afraid” appears at least 9 times for a total
of 25 times.
“Fear” itself is spoken of over 500 times in
the King James Version of the Bible.
And Jesus said unto Simon, “Fear not. From henceforth thou shalt catch men.” – Luke 5:10
And in Matthew 10:28 Jesus says to “fear
him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
And in Psalms 111:10 it says, “The fear of the LORD is the
beginning of wisdom.”
Is the Bible contradicting itself or are
there different types of fears being spoken of.

~ African Americans Deserve Reparations Too! ~
Reparation is defined as
the act of making amends, offering expiation, or giving satisfaction for a
wrong or injury. It is the payment of damages.
We All Agree that Slavery
and her children, racism, discrimination bigotry and racial supremacy were and still
are egregious ills within our American Society.
This government has
forgiven the debts of countries that were formally our sworn enemies and
supplied them with the blood, sweat and tears of our men and women in uniform.
This country has rebuilt the infrastructure of war torn nations and repeatedly
put our men and woman in uniform in harm’s way in the name of democracy and
human rights.
However, this nation has
not afforded former slaves and their decedents the same courtesy and/or
financial benefits that was granted to such countries as Afghanistan (12.9
Billion in aid in 2011), Israel (3.2 billion in 2011) and Iraq (2.14 billion
2011) and this does not include the human cost.
A fraction of such aid as
reparations for this country’s horrendous and brutal acts of slavery, racism,
discrimination as well as its clandestine policies that permitted the inhumane
and immoral lynching, murders, rapes and dismemberment of its African American
citizens (namely the black man) and their families, would go a long way in
repairing the generational, social, psychological and financial health of the
race.
Regardless of the few
exceptions that have been allowed to rise to the level of affluence, fame
and/or fortune, there is still a significant population of African Americans
who have not left the plantation, mentally, spiritually, socially and
financially. The holocaust of slavery has generational ramifications that are
just now coming to light and must be addressed on several levels none the least
of which are financial reparations.
Now, this article may be
offensive to some but it is not intended to be. The uplifting of a people
wronged does not diminish anyone but benefits everyone. (Bishop)
If you are of African American
descent, please feel free to chime in with your opinion on this ongoing
question. I will not challenge your opinion or confront your position on the
matter. I just want to give you the opportunity to be heard on the matter or at
least think about where you and your family would be financially, socially,
educationally and psychologically if we (African Americans) were afforded the
same privilege and aid that foreign nations are afforded by this country.

The Editor's Commentary
It
is obvious to the astute and the discerning that certain elements of our
society have waged financial, political and social warfare on those that they
have perceived to have voted for President Obama. They cannot touch him, although they have
tried, so they are coming after the poor, the African American, the Hispanic
and the non-white voter.

LET ME BE ABSOLUTELY CLEAR. ~
In
this life, things will never be fair but trust God and hold on. God still is in control.

may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33

DON’T GET IT TWISTED!
THE WAY YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE WILL ANSWER THE
FOLLOWING QUESTIONS FOR YOU:
What is your main focus?
Is it yourself?
Is it family?
Is it sex?
Is it pleasing others?
Is it your spouse?
Is it your body?
Is it your children?
Is it pleasing yourself?
What is your main goal
and purpose?
Is it finding a suitable mate?
Is it finding someone to take care of you?
Is it getting a home and car?
Is it getting an education?
Is it serving others?
Is it to be served by others?
Is it to be rich and powerful?
Is it achieving your own ambitions?
Does the accumulation
of things make you happy?
Do you need the
approval and acceptance of friends and family to be happy?
Jesus said, “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.” – Luke 14:26
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” – Matthew 6:33
“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. “If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned…” – John 15:4-6
DON’T
GET IT TWISTED!

have everything!” (O.W. Prince)
