ASK THE BISHOP / WHAT DOES GOD SAY ABOUT ORAL SEX?

QUESTION: (Anonymous)

Bishop, I heard a young person say that they were saving themselves for marriage but was engaged in having oral sex until they get married. They didn't consider oral sex as a sex act. What is your position on this matter?

ANSWER:

Thank you for your question. Most preachers/Pastors would avoid answering this question in an open social forum like FaceBook, and some have dared express a compromising, socially pleasing, watered down moral stance on sex and sexual perversions. However, I have made a commitment to try to answer your questions and maybe help someone else that may have a similar question and are just too shy or embarrassed to ask it.

This is an easy question to answer. It is not difficult at all. Sex is sex! Any sex outside of marriage is absolutely wrong, particularly “oral sex.” Therefore, your “young person” has already crossed the line of sexual impurity and can no longer be considered sexually pure or sexually chaste (Faithful to God). The Word of God indicates that it takes a debased mind, dishonorable passions and a darkened heart to go against nature and do what ought not to be done (Romans 1:18-32).

  • The Bible is clear on sexual fidelity (e.g. Hebrews 13:4; Ephesians 5:1-3; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11).
  •  Sexual practices that are “contrary to nature”, i.e. meant to produce a pregnancy, are forbidden. Homosexuality is the most obvious – and clearly condemned (Romans 1:26-27). Therefore, any variation or imitation of that which God calls an abomination, whether in marriage or out of marriage, whether between opposite sexes or the same sex, is condemned.
  • The Bible states clearly that our bodies (Referring to those of us who have repented, been washed in the blood of Christ by water baptism into His name and are filled with His Holy Spirit) are not our own, and that we are to glorify God with our bodies (see 1 Corinthians 6:12-20; 10:31). Our sexual conduct in marriage should glorify God.

In accordance with the Holy Scriptures and The Holy Spirit that dwells within me, I believe we should avoid every sexual practice that is clearly forbidden in the Word of God, and that we should enjoy the freedom God gives to us in marriage, subject to the governing principles of His Word.

As for those saints who may read this post and come under conviction, the Word of God says:
  • “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

As for those who are unsaved according to Holy Scripture, you may obtain a new life in and with Christ by obeying Acts, 2:38:
  • "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

Everything That Shines Ain't Gold

We have all heard it said that “Everything that shines ain’t gold.” And in Isaiah the 14th Chapter, Lucifer (The Devil) is described as the bright Morning Star – The most beautiful of God’s creations.  Nevertheless, he was cast down out of heaven to the earth along with a third of the stars (angels) of heaven) for prideful rebellion (Revelation 12:4).

There are a lot of good looking, good sounding, excellent speaking, persuasive and motivating preachers and Pastors who shine brightly in the earth.

But suffice it to say that “Everything that shine ain’t Gold.”

The Bibles teaches us to “test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.”

And how do we test the Spirit to see if they are confessing or rather teaching the Doctrine of Christ?

Apostles Paul answers that question in Galatians 1:8 by saying: “if anyone or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one preached to us by the Apostles of Christ, let them be under God's curse!”

The standard for telling if a preacher is preaching God’s Truth is to measure it against the commands of God and the teachings and practices of the true apostles of Christ.

Christ and His Apostles have set the standard for the Church of Jesus Christ. And  any other teaching, any other doctrines or any other practice is accursed.

Everything that shines ain’t gold!

DON’T GET IT TWISTED!

THE WAY YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE WILL ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS FOR YOU:
What is your main focus?
Is it yourself?
Is it family?
Is it sex?
Is it pleasing others?
Is it your spouse?
Is it your body?
Is it your children?
Is it pleasing yourself?

What is your main goal and purpose?
Is it finding a suitable mate?
Is it finding someone to take care of you?
Is it getting a home and car?
Is it getting an education?
Is it serving others?
Is it to be served by others?
Is it to be rich and powerful?
Is it achieving your own ambitions?

Does the accumulation of things make you happy?
Do you need the approval and acceptance of friends and family to be happy?

Jesus said, “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.” – Luke 14:26
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” – Matthew 6:33
“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. “If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned…” – John 15:4-6
