THE BLACK EXPERIENCE IN AMERICA

CAN SOMEONE SAY DOUBLE STANDARDS?

WARNING!!!

Don’t fall for the old switcheroo that the government sanctioned media is trying to feed to the public.

The recent media blitz about child abuse and domestic violence involving celebrities isn’t anything new in our society.  And I find it ominously strange that these old topics, although important, are suddenly made to be front & center against Mr. Michael Brown’s murder and the growing international awareness of America’s unjust and murderous treatment of its African American population- particularly its black males.

Why is it so important to make us aware of “domestic violence” and “child abuse issues” when we are still reeling from the numerous shooting deaths of young male African American teenagers by white Law Enforcement officers?

I would venture to guess it is to further dismiss the value of a black male’s life and cover-up the shame, wickedness and hypocrisy of a government that preaches human rights to other nations while permitting inhuman and egregious racist actions within its own borders.

I am Just Trying To Keep It Real!

I haven’t done this in a while so let me post some uncomfortable historical truth about my race, culture and experience. To some this may be offensive material so please be warned. Some readers may want to stop reading at this point.
image
This fact has always been a part of the African American males’ experience.
image
Since blacks were allowed to own and drive their own personal vehicles, (A privilege that many of us take for granted.) it has always been and continues to be a very risky and life threatening experience for an African American male to be stopped on the highway by Law Enforcement, especially if he is by himself.

I will not bother to try to quote the statistic on the ratio of blacks to other races whose traffic stops ended in their deaths. I will not bore you with things that you already have been made aware of.

I just want to remind us that some of us live in a very different world than yours and our experience demands that we be more sensitive, more vigilant, more careful, more aware, more intuitive, more spiritual, more prayerful and more watchful in order to survive. Our instinct to survive is forged from surviving generations of oppression, murder, rape, subjugation, lynching and other horrors too inhuman to encapsulate in words.
image

So when traveling the highways of our great and awesome democracy, please remember that there are still some crazy folks out there wearing law enforcement uniforms and carrying hate as a weapon in their souls for the annihilation of the posterity of those whom they would enslave.

Remember that a black man literally places his life in the hands of his potential executioner almost every time he is stopped by Law Enforcement.

I am just keeping it real.

SAYING WHAT NEEDS TO BE SAID

OTHERS HAVE THOUGHT IT BUT I WILL SAY IT.

THERE HAVE BEEN MANY UNITED STATES PRESIDENTS WHO HAVE NOT PERFORMED IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE POOR, THE MINORITIES, THE UNINSURED AND UNDERINSURED AS WELL AS THE HANDICAPPED CITIZENS OF AMERICA. THERE HAVE BEEN A NUMBER OF UNITED STATES PRESIDENTS WHO HAVE ENGAGED IN EVIL POLITICS AND UNJUST WARS WHERE OUR SONS AND DAUGHTERS WERE PURPOSELY PUT IN HARMS WAY AND MAIMED SLAUGHTERED ON THE BATTLEFIELD BECAUSE OF A PERSONAL AGENDA BY THE CHIEF EXCUTIVE OFFICER OR OVER SOME PHONY ALLEGATIONS OF WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION. GENERATIONS OF MINORTY CITIZENS WHOSE FOUNDATION AND HERITAGE SPRANG FROM SYSTEMATIC DISCRIMINATION, SOCIAL DEPRAVATION AND INFERIOR EDUCATIONAL AND EARNING OPPORTUNITIES AS WELL AS JUDICAL DISPARITIES THAT STILL EXISTS TODAY HAVE HAD TO ENDURE THE EVILS OF RACISM AND BIGOTRY WITH GRACE, DIGNITY AND FAITH.

HOWEVER, THE FIRST TIME THAT AN AFRICAN AMERICAN BECOMES PRESIDENT OF THE UNTED STATES OF AMERICA; A SIGINIFACANT SEGEMENT OF THE WHITE POPULATION HATEFULLY BRINGS ALL OF THEIR POWER AND INFLUENCE TO DEMONIZE THE PRESIDENT AND TRY TO SULLY HIS LEGACY. MANY WHITES HAVE ACTUALLY LOST THEIR ABILTIY TO HIDE THEIR RACIST THOUGHTS.  OVERT ACTS OF VIOLENCE AGAINST MINORITIES HAVE INCREASED ALONGS WITH RACIST SLURS AND DEMEANING DEPICTIONS AND OTHER INSULTS. WHITE SUPREMACISTS HAVE LOST MINDS AND SENSE OF DECENCY, PROPRIETY AND CIVILITY. THEY ARE OUT OF CONTROLL. WHERE WERE THEIR PASSION AND OUTRAGE WHEN BLACK MEN AND BOYS AND BLACK WOMEN AND GIRLS WERE BEING SUBJECTED TO THE HARSH REALITIES OF SYSTEMIC BIGOTRY, MURDER, RAPE, IMPRISONMENT, THE CLANDESTINE AND SYSTEMATIC DISMANTLING OF THE BLACK FAMILY AND THE CONTINUED POLICIES THAT KEPT THE POOR IMPOVERISHED AND WITHOUT ANY HOPE. THEY TALK ABOUT ENTITLEMENTS AS IF IT WERE A BAD THING BUT AREN’T THEY HYPOCRITES? THEY FEEL ENTITLED TO AN UNJUST PORTION OF WEALTH AND LIBERTIES THAT HAVE BEEN AND STILL ARE DENIED TO GENERATIONS OF MINORITES.

I AM TIRED OF THEIR BELLYACHING AND WHINING ABOUT A LITTLE DISCOMFORT AND AN IMAGINED THREAT. I AM TIRED OF THEIR COWARDLY TACTICS OF SLANDER AND MISIFORMATION. I SAY TO THEM “BE QUIET!” YOU DON’T HAVE THE RIGHT TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE CURRENT PRESIDENCY OR HIS POLICIES. YOUR FAMILIES HAVE NOT ENDURED GENERATIONS OF OPPRESSION. “BE QUIET!” YOUR WOMEN HAVE NOT HAD TO EDURE THE ABSENCE OF THEIR HUSBANDS AND FATHERS DUE TO A CORRUPT JUDICIAL SYSTEM. “BE QUIET!” YOU HAVE NOT ENURED THE LOST OF UNBORN GENERATIONS BECAUSE OF LYNCHINGS, MURDERS AND THE UNJUST IMPRISONMENT OF YOUR MALE POPULATION. “BE QUIET!” YOU HAVE NOT HAD YOUR WOMEN HABITUALLY SUBJECTED TO SEXUAL MOLESTATION, RAPE AND ABUSE WITHOUT JUDICIAL REDRESS. “BE QUIET!” YOU DON’T HAVE THE RIGHT TO COMPLAIN, UNLESS OF COURSE YOU FEEL SUPERIOR AND ENTITLED TO COMFORTS, HAPPINESS, SECURITIES AND PLEASURES THAT WERE DENIED US.  IN REALITY, IT APPEARS THAT IT IS YOU WHO ARE SEEKING FOR ENTITLEMENTS?  SO WHY DON’T YOU JUST HUSH?!

IT IS PAINFULLY OBVIOUS THAT THE DEMONIZING OF PRESIDENT OBAMA HAS RACIST OVERTONES. OTHERWISE, WHY WASN’T PRESIDENT BUSH DEMONIZED OR WHY WASN’T ANY OF THE OTHER FORMER WHITE PRESIDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES DEMONIZED, PUBLICALLY SLURRED, SULLIED, POLITACALLY TERRORIZED AND CHARACTERIZED AS INFERIOR DEMEANING ANIMALS (I.E. MONKIES AND APES)? WHY WEREN’T THEIR HERITAGE AND ORIGINS SCRUTINIZED WITH THE SAME FERVOR AS PRESIDENT’S OBAMA’S WAS? WHY WEREN’T THEIR FAMILIES’ HISTORY OF SLAVE OWNERSHIP, ILLEGAL MANUFACTURING AND SALES OF ILLEGAL LIQUOR, ILLEGAL GAMBLING AND PROSTITUTION BROUGHT OUT PUBLICALLY? COULD IT BE THAT THEY ARE “ENTITLED?”

SOME OF THESE RACIST MALCONTENTS SAY THAT THEY ARE CHRISTIANS AND THAT THEY REPRESENT THE MORAL RIGHT. LET’S EXAMINE THAT CLAIM.
Ecclesiastes 10:20 says, “Don't insult the king, not even in your thoughts…”
Daniel 5:22 says, “…The Most High God is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and sets over them anyone he wishes.”
EVERYTHING IS ORDERED BY THE LORD, EVEN OUR PRESIDENT.

WHO ARE WE TO QUESTION GOD’S SOVEREIGNTY OR HIS CHOICE IN LEADERSHIP?

MINORITIES HAVE HAD TO LEARN HOW TO LIVE AND SURVIVE IN HUMILITY AND QUIETNESS -TRUSTING IN GOD’S SOVEREIGNTY AND GREAT MERCIES. I SUGGEST THAT THOSE WHO DO NOT AGREE WITH THE CURRENT PRESIDENT TAKE A LESSON FROM THOSE OF US WHO HAVE HAD TO SUFFER THROUGH MANY PRESIDENTS.

TRUST GOD AND BE QUIET!

~ African Americans Deserve Reparations Too! ~

Reparation is defined as the act of making amends, offering expiation, or giving satisfaction for a wrong or injury. It is the payment of damages.

We All Agree that Slavery and her children, racism, discrimination bigotry and racial supremacy were and still are egregious ills within our American Society.

This government has forgiven the debts of countries that were formally our sworn enemies and supplied them with the blood, sweat and tears of our men and women in uniform. This country has rebuilt the infrastructure of war torn nations and repeatedly put our men and woman in uniform in harm’s way in the name of democracy and human rights.

However, this nation has not afforded former slaves and their decedents the same courtesy and/or financial benefits that was granted to such countries as Afghanistan (12.9 Billion in aid in 2011), Israel (3.2 billion in 2011) and Iraq (2.14 billion 2011) and this does not include the human cost.

A fraction of such aid as reparations for this country’s horrendous and brutal acts of slavery, racism, discrimination as well as its clandestine policies that permitted the inhumane and immoral lynching, murders, rapes and dismemberment of its African American citizens (namely the black man) and their families, would go a long way in repairing the generational, social, psychological and financial health of the race.

Regardless of the few exceptions that have been allowed to rise to the level of affluence, fame and/or fortune, there is still a significant population of African Americans who have not left the plantation, mentally, spiritually, socially and financially. The holocaust of slavery has generational ramifications that are just now coming to light and must be addressed on several levels none the least of which are financial reparations.

Now, this article may be offensive to some but it is not intended to be. The uplifting of a people wronged does not diminish anyone but benefits everyone. (Bishop)

If you are of African American descent, please feel free to chime in with your opinion on this ongoing question. I will not challenge your opinion or confront your position on the matter. I just want to give you the opportunity to be heard on the matter or at least think about where you and your family would be financially, socially, educationally and psychologically if we (African Americans) were afforded the same privilege and aid that foreign nations are afforded by this country.

THE VERDICT / NO JUSTICE. NO PEACE.

A Non- African American Jury, Judge and Prosecutor Tried A Case Where A Non-African American Man Gunned Down and Murdered A Teenage African American Boy.

WHAT DID YOU THINK THE VERDICT WAS GOING TO BE?! GUILTY?  I DON’T THINK SO.

[I encourage you to share all of my posts about the continual and horrendous injustices perpetrated upon African Americans by the “in-Justice System” in America.  --- My voice is not restrained by political or monetary considerations.  I only wish to Keep It Real.]
------------------------------------------------------
I was reading some comments from a friend’s page and there was a cold heartless suggestions that if “Trayvon Martin had not circled back and attacked Zimmerman this wouldn't have happened.”  This statement assumes that Zimmerman’s version of events is true.   And also implies justification for murdering Trayvon.

Then there were some African Americans who agreed with the verdict -- seemingly they were trying to garner favor and acceptance from those who would at onetime enslave them, castrate them, rape their women, hang and burn them.  These confused and sad souls are obviously not aware of or not concerned with the plight of the African American male.  They don’t realize that non-blacks have been killing black men with impunity for centuries.
-----------------------------------------------------------
We all know that if a black man in America had shot and killed a white boy in the same manner in which Zimmerman gunned down Trayvon Martin, the jury selection, the prosecution’s approach and the outcome of the trial would be a lot different.

However, we should never expect those who were privileged enough to enjoy generation after generation after generation of continual financial, social, civil and political freedoms, favoritism and privilege to understand or empathize with the holocaust and judicial disparity that we have suffered and continue to suffer in America.

Licensed To Kill/ You or Your Child May Be Next

WARNING: This is a very personal article based upon recent events effecting the Black community in America and may not be consistent with other Christian commentaries usually associated with this blog. Most of the content of this article were ripped from the pages of Charleston City Paper. Not everyone is expected to relate of the plight expressed in this article. However, you are still welcomed to leave a comment and share your opinion.
trayvon-martin-florida-shootinThe Stand Your Ground law in Florida has come under renewed scrutiny since the Feb. 26 shooting of teenager Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Fla. According to news reports, Martin, 17, was walking home in a gated community when he crossed paths with self-appointed neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman, who started following Martin through the neighborhood in his car. Eyewitness accounts vary, with some saying Martin tried to escape and others saying Martin attacked Zimmerman, but in the end, Zimmerman was seen standing over Martin’s dead body with a pistol in hand. Martin, who was unarmed, died of a single gunshot wound to the chest. When police arrived, Zimmerman claimed protection under the Stand Your Ground laws, and he was not arrested.

South Carolina’s Stand Your Ground law (Title 16, Article 6) is similar to Florida’s in that it allows people to use deadly force in self-defense in their home or vehicle (a special provision even guarantees the same right for people sleeping in tents). But whereas the Florida law includes the blanket provision for “any other place where he or she has a right to be,” South Carolina’s phrasing is slightly different: The castle defender can be “in another place where he has a right to be, including, but not limited to, his place of business.”

In the wake of Martin’s shooting, Florida’s broad Stand Your Ground law is being put to the test. Now that the 9-1-1 tapes has revealed that Zimmerman got out to confront Martin, against the advice of a 9-1-1 operator, some are questioning the intent of the law. When people are allowed to carry concealed weapons in a state with Stand Your Ground laws, exactly how far does the license to kill extend and to whom is it targeted to kill?

Don’t look now, but South Carolina along with other States have empowered the gun carrying racist to hunt African-Americans as prey under the disguise of a perceived threat—justifying their use of deadly force on unarmed and unsuspecting blacks.

I fear that this Stand Your Ground legislation has created further instability and distrust in a society that is only generations away from legalized slavery, hangings and human cruelties upon blacks. But maybe that is the clandestine purpose of this law.

Wake up people. We are under attack and our enemy has been licensed to kill us under protection of the law –without any fear of reprisals.

It is obvious that this law may backfire upon it creators. People like Zimmerman, who are known to carry guns and have a propensity to shot blacks, may readily become targets themselves since they have already proven themselves to be a threat. Wouldn’t that be interesting — to have the Stand Your Ground laws protect a black person for shooting and killing a perceived and verifiable threat to their person who happened to be white? Umm? However I don’t advocate for violence or revenge.

We need to revert back to the methods of self-preservation that our forefathers used in order to navigate in a world that they knew was hostile toward them while yet exercising our civil liberties, defining and expanding the boundaries of civil rights and fighting for moral and judicial integrity. We need to recapture the wisdom, insight and unity of the past.

I advise you to protect yourselves and families at all times.

Watch as well as pray my people. Watch as well as pray.

Don’t become the prey!

Watch as well as pray!

The Trayvon Martin Murder

American justice is unjust with regards to the value of a white life to that of an African American, particularly a black male. It appears that the predominantly white American Justice System considers the life of a dog (referencing the Michael Vick story) more valuable than that of a black male teenager. I can imagine if a black man had shot and killed a white teenager in the same manner that Trayvon was murdered he would be arrested immediately without question regardless of his explanation and we all know I am telling the truth.

This takes racism to a new level.  It openly and undeniably reveals how insidious racism is in America.  It exposes the American legal system for what it has been and continues to be with regards to its heinous disregard for an African American life.

The Trayvon Martin Story is not unique to American history.  However, it is absolutely unique to the African American experience.

It has been open season on African American males for as long as I can remember.  Historically, white men and some white women have murdered and stolen the lives and destroyed the families of countless African Americans with impunity.  We are murdered simply because of the color our skin or because we dare to look a white person in the eye when we speak to them or because we have a healthy self image and do not choose to think less of ourselves than we ought or because we marry out our race or have a mastery of the English language.  Regardless of the godless and surreptitious behavior of the predominantly white law enforcement agencies in America, the majority of African Americans observe, respect and obey the law.

Now it is time for a change.  It is time for an unprecedented reaction to the criminal injustices of our justice system officials and the cold blooded murder of our children.  Our reaction should resonate throughout history and send an unprecedented message to the powers that be that our mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles, sisters and bothers and God loving citizens are not going to tolerate or endure the murdering of our children any longer.  There has to be a change.  The Law Enforcement officers, government officials and law makers who have allowed this injustice must be exposed, replaced and punished.
Enough is enough and the time for change is now!  Rally our legal geniuses.  Engage our socially conscience and morally righteous activists.  Respect, protect and support those who are in positions of power and influence to impact and correct the disparity in the justice system.  Help the righteous leaders of justice expose and punish those who have violated human and civil rights.  Send the message that we will not rest until justice prevails nor will we forget the heinous crimes of racism or tolerate its poisonous attitude or behavior in our society any longer.

Let me say one more thing.  Every since President Barack Obama became President of The United States of America, racist in America lost their minds and their civility –if they ever had any - and they have raised the level of their hate for blacks to new heights.  Not since the sixties have we ever seen more incidents of racist remarks, racist cartoon caricatures, racist signs and literature as we do today.  It has all been in response to a black man becoming president.  I am only stating what is obvious to most African Americans.

Racist have declared war on all African American citizens of the United States of America.  They have used every conceivable method to eradicate the world of black people – from medically unwarranted hysterectomies on uninformed and unsuspecting black women to the castration, murder and unjust incarceration of black males.  I was wondering when someone will notice and say something but no one did.  Therefore, I have.

Wake up America!  There is a war going on right on American soil that is more insidious than anything we have warred against on foreign soil.  It is time that we totally demolish the white good old boys system and tear down the strongholds of the enemy – exposing them for the clandestine cowards that they are.  Let us respond in the right spirit - the spirit of unity and justice not hate and revenge.  Those are the weapons of the enemy.  Our weapons are greater.  Our weapons are superior intellect and spiritual maturity honed by centuries of real life education, abuse, hardship and suffering.  Our weapons are not of this world but mighty through God.  They are the prayers prayed by the broken hearted and crushed in spirit.  They are the righteous acts of those who champion the cause of justice and equality.   They are the heart wrenching cries of a mother weeping over her murdered son.  They are the moans of a father in anguish over the killing of his only boy.  They are the promises of God who keeps His Word.

“The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit…Evil will slay the wicked; the foes of the righteous will be condemned. The LORD will rescue his servants; no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned. (Psalm  34:17-21)

Amen!
