A CHRISTMAS MESSAGE - HOW BELIEVERS SHOULD RESPOND TO THE NEWS OF CHRIST BIRTH

Luke 2:8-14 (ESV)
And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.  And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear.  And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.  And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.”  And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”

We should not treat Christ as if He is something common to man.

HE IS GOD!

This may be a radical Truth in this sick and wicked world. But it is the TRUTH!

Even the FATHER calls Him GOD and the angels in Heaven are commanded to worship Him. (Hebrews 1)

Let us not get it twisted!

This is not a holiday that you wish to celebrate with common worldly pleasures and self-indulgences. This is not a holiday that you wish to trivialize and make common with ornamentations and decorations, traditions and rituals, fairytales and false hopes.

This is not a common holiday.

This is a HOLY TIME that we desire to worship in daily!

This is a HOLY TIME of unusual praise and worship that we strive to be mindful of everyday.

It is always a HOLY TIME when we remember that God loved us so much that He came to be with us in the most intimate of ways and with the explicit understanding that He would be separated from His FATHER and His Heavenly Glory and suffer an horrific death so that we may know The Father through Him and know Him in a better way.

It is always a HOLY TIME when born again believers in Christ begin to worship Christ in Spirit and in TRUTH!

It is always A HOLY TIME whenever we receive a revelation and begin to express worshipful appreciation of the magnitude of what God did for us.

People lose their minds whenever a rock star or celebrity comes to town. Folks do some crazy and excessive things when their favorite musician, singer or politician visits them. People make some unusual arrangements and preparations when some big shot comes to town. All of these folks were born inherently wicked. Only our God is Holy!

There Is No one Bigger Than Our GOD.

AND THE GOD NEWS IS THAT OUR GOD IS WITH US!
“Glory to God in Heaven, and upon earth peace, Good News to the children of men.” (Luke 2:14)

R.E.S.P.E.C.T.

I have made a terrible mistake and must rebuke myself.

It just occurred to me that I have been going at this thing of homosexuality and same-sex marriages all wrong.

You know that the way that you word things and the passion with which you word them can be interpreted as either hostile and confrontational or friendly and inviting.

I believe that the majority of what is said against homosexuality and same-sex marriages has been the former. We (Christians for Sexual Holiness and Purity) are always attacking homosexuals but we seldom invite them into our revelation of God and His Righteousness. We excommunicate them before they are even in fellowship of the Church.

How can they hear the Word unless we who have the Spirit of Christ speak the Word in Love to them? Admonishing, but with a kind loving and respectful voice. Teaching carefully and with patience, remembering the patience that God has with us; always depending upon the guidance of the Holy Spirit who is the True Teacher.

We who are mature in the FAITH can be faithful to our God and The Spirit of Holiness without being insulting and disrespectful to others and their beliefs. We can correct, rebuke and encourage without being confrontational argumentative and angry. We have the Spirit of Christ. Therefore we have the Spirit of Peace. And we should come in peace to bring the Good News of Peace to a world and a people lost in sin.

How else will they hear us?

I don’t want to listen to someone who is always attacking me verbally and diminishing me as a human being. I need someone to encourage me sometimes while correcting my errors in a respectful manner that allows me to hear what is being said and see the errors of my ways. I don’t need anybody trying to humiliate me or shame me or browbeat me into submission. I can’t find an example of Christ or his Apostles preaching or teaching in an antagonistic manner.

We can preach and teach the Truth of God’s Word, Will and Way without compromise or cowardice but our tone must be grounded in God’s inviting Love. We are to reflect the sacrifice and longsuffering of Christ toward us in our approach to witnessing to anybody.

Once you get a revelation of this, your voice and tone will change from that of an enemy to that of a friend.

The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ But wisdom is proved right by her deeds.” (Matthew 11:19)

Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage–with great patience and careful instruction. (2 Timothy 4:2)
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, And he who is wise wins souls.
