ASK THE BISHOP / WHAT DOES GOD SAY ABOUT ORAL SEX?

QUESTION: (Anonymous)

Bishop, I heard a young person say that they were saving themselves for marriage but was engaged in having oral sex until they get married. They didn't consider oral sex as a sex act. What is your position on this matter?

ANSWER:

Thank you for your question. Most preachers/Pastors would avoid answering this question in an open social forum like FaceBook, and some have dared express a compromising, socially pleasing, watered down moral stance on sex and sexual perversions. However, I have made a commitment to try to answer your questions and maybe help someone else that may have a similar question and are just too shy or embarrassed to ask it.

This is an easy question to answer. It is not difficult at all. Sex is sex! Any sex outside of marriage is absolutely wrong, particularly “oral sex.” Therefore, your “young person” has already crossed the line of sexual impurity and can no longer be considered sexually pure or sexually chaste (Faithful to God). The Word of God indicates that it takes a debased mind, dishonorable passions and a darkened heart to go against nature and do what ought not to be done (Romans 1:18-32).

  • The Bible is clear on sexual fidelity (e.g. Hebrews 13:4; Ephesians 5:1-3; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11).
  •  Sexual practices that are “contrary to nature”, i.e. meant to produce a pregnancy, are forbidden. Homosexuality is the most obvious – and clearly condemned (Romans 1:26-27). Therefore, any variation or imitation of that which God calls an abomination, whether in marriage or out of marriage, whether between opposite sexes or the same sex, is condemned.
  • The Bible states clearly that our bodies (Referring to those of us who have repented, been washed in the blood of Christ by water baptism into His name and are filled with His Holy Spirit) are not our own, and that we are to glorify God with our bodies (see 1 Corinthians 6:12-20; 10:31). Our sexual conduct in marriage should glorify God.

In accordance with the Holy Scriptures and The Holy Spirit that dwells within me, I believe we should avoid every sexual practice that is clearly forbidden in the Word of God, and that we should enjoy the freedom God gives to us in marriage, subject to the governing principles of His Word.

As for those saints who may read this post and come under conviction, the Word of God says:
  • “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

As for those who are unsaved according to Holy Scripture, you may obtain a new life in and with Christ by obeying Acts, 2:38:
  • "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
Repent!!!!
